How To Apply For OTET Orissa 2017-18 Application form:

  • Visit the official site of Board of Secondary Education, Orissa, which is bseodisha.nic.in.
  • On the home page click on the scrolling text ‘Online Application for OTET – 2017’.
  • Click on New Registration.
  • Fill asked details correctly and upload your photo and signature on the registration form.
  • Press on to ‘submit’ tab.

OTET 2017 Exam pattern:

  • There are two papers namely Paper 1 (For class I to V) and Paper 2 (For Class VI – VIII).
  • The exam is of objective type with four alternatives.
  • There will no negative marking.
  • Each question consists of 1 mark.
  • There are 150 questions in total and 5 hours duration

The teaching eligibility test is conducted for two papers Paper I and Paper II. However, candidates can apply for only one paper.

Contenders who will clear the paper-I they can apply for the teacher of primary class (I-V) and who applied for paper-II can apply for the teacher of the upper primary class (VI- VII).

OTET Eligibility:

For Paper 1:

  • Candidate should have 50% aggregate marks in Class XII and should possess a two-year diploma in Special Education or Elementary Education (CT). or
  • Candidate should clear graduation in any stream and should possess a two-year diploma in Elementary Education /Special Education.

For Paper-2:

  • Candidates should clear graduation with at least 50% marks and should pass a one-year course in Bachelor in Education (B Ed).
  • Candidates should clear Class XII with at least 50% marks and  should pass a four-year BA Ed/ BSc Ed course.

Lets discuss the syllabus structure, starting with Paper 1:

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy will have 30 questions of 1 mark each.
  2. Language 1 which could be Odia/ Urdu/ Hindi/ Telugu/ Bengali will also have 30 questions of 1 mark each.
  3. Similarly Language-II (English),  Mathematics and Environment Studies will also have 30 questions of 1 mark each.

In each subject area 20 questions will be set form contents & 10 questions from Pedagogy.

Heading over to Paper 2:

Like paper 1,

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy will have 30 questions of 1 mark each.
  2. Language 1 which could be Odia/ Urdu/ Hindi/ Telugu/ Bengali will also have 30 questions of 1 mark each.
  3. Similarly Language-II (English), Mathematics and Environment Studies will also have 30 questions of 1 mark each.
  4. Mathematics & Science will have 60 questions consisting of 30 questions from Mathematics and 30 questions from Science.
  5. Candidates can also attempt social studies instead of Mathematics & Science. social studies will have 60 questions consisting of 30 questions from History & Political Science and 30 questions from Geography

In each subject area 20 questions will be set form contents & 10 questions from Pedagogy.

OTET result

The result of OTET 2017 will be announced in the month of October 2017 by the exam organising authority i.e. BSE, Odisha. To qualify, 60% marks in a must. The qualified candidates will then join the interview process.
